Earth Day - April 22

Earth Day is celebrated annually in April. It is not a Federal holiday, but it is a time set aside to remind Americans to protect our environment.

It has been suggested that classroom teachers arrange to have open discussions on how to improve the community and to divide the class into groups to: plant trees, collect cans for recycling, remove graffiti, pick up litter and clean up playgrounds.

Keeping America beautiful* is the responsibility of every American. Let us pride ourselves in keeping our land beautiful and green.

Atlas "Pencils That Say Things" are a helpful reminder of the importance of the day.
